Week 4, Term 3

Dear 4Z Parents, Here we are gathering speed well into the third term!  Firstly, thank you to all parents and students for supporting our fundraising effort for the Mission Markets. The donations were used to buy posca pens and stones for our Year 4 pet rocks which were a hit, as was 4K's magnetic fishing game.  There was a few Year 4 star fishermen/women who showed their prowess on the day too winning a huge amount of OLC Bucks!  I was extremely proud and impressed by how caring the Year 4s were to their PP buddies, taking them around and ensuring the younger OLC kids were able to fully enjoy the Mission Markets day.   Homework Just a reminder that our fortnightly homework set is due  this Friday 11th August  (end of even weeks of each term) for Week 3 and 4.  Please continue with regular reading on week nights and fill out the log. The students are still asked to complete the four Maths columns across the fortnight and we will be discussing some...

Wow!  We have reached the pointy end of the term and this will be our last blog post until Term 2.  A big congratulations to our First Eucharist recipients and their Prayer Buddies who supported them in a beautiful service at the OLSC church last weekend. We are so very proud of their level of maturity during the preparation process and for they way in which they have supported one another in receiving the sacrament. Mrs Meyer deserves a huge thank you for helping us prepare and have a deeper understanding of what it means to receive the Eucharist. Mrs Casella did an incredible job baking and decorating the cupcakes which were deliciously enjoyed by the students after the celebration. Thanks Mrs C, we could taste the love! A final big thank you goes out to Mrs Jane King and the band/choir for providing us with music at the mass. Farewell Mrs Casella We are extremely sad to be farewelling Mrs Casella at the end of the term and we will miss her bubbly, positive vibes in Year 4M....

Week 8, Term 1

Good afternoon parents, It has been a lovely last couple of weeks preparing those students who will be receiving Eucharist for this first time this coming Sunday.  Both the candidate c hildren and prayer buddies have been absolutely amazing in their preparation for this event.  We are very much looking forward to celebrating this special occasion together Sunday 26th March! A few quick reminders for Sunday... Candidates (and families) are to come dressed in their Sunday best - white or light coloured clothing is most appropriate for this occasion as white symbolises that purity and being transformed. Please make sure that you are seated in your assigned seat by  8.15am . Getting there a few minutes before will allow time for a few photos outside if you wish.  A reminder that there is only room for immediate family in the pews - there is plenty of seating at the back and upstairs. Your child will have a dedicated pew with their name on a chalice image at the end....
